Giclée Prints

What is a Giclée Print: The giclée printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. High resolution digital scans or files are printed with archival inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo base paper. Today’s technology printers are capable of incredibly detailed prints for both the fine art and photographic markets.

For Artwork: Giclée prints are advantageous to artists who do not find it feasible to mass produce their work, but want to reproduce their art as needed, or on-demand. An archived digital image can be reproduced with minimal effort and reasonable cost. Another tremendous advantage of giclée printing is that digital images can be archived and reproduced to almost any size and onto various media, giving the artist the ability to customize prints for a specific client.

For Photography: Archived files will not deteriorate as negatives and film inherently do. The quality of the giclée print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is common in museums, and art and photographic galleries.

Pricing for Giclée Prints: Our printer uses paper rolls that are 24 inches wide by 100 ft long, so it's capable of printing very large pieces, or multiple small prints. Carter Photographics has stock photos available for printing. We are currently working on the pricing structure for Giclée Prints.
